On behalf of the people of the United States of America, I congratulate interim President Juan Guaido, the National Assembly, and the people of Venezuela as you celebrate the anniversary of your independence.

Once again, the Venezuelan people are besieged by dictatorship, undesired foreign presence, and profiteers.  As in the time of Bolivar, Venezuela’s path to democracy is not easy, but you inspire the world with the strength of your voices and tremendous courage.  We are with you in your struggle to reclaim your democratic self-governance and free it from those who have betrayed, oppressed, and robbed the Venezuelan people of the wealth of your great nation.

The United States is unwavering in our commitment to realizing the restoration of your democratic future and the establishment of a government chosen by the Venezuelan people through free and fair elections.  You will have our support until then — and beyond as your recovery begins.

En nombre del pueblo de los Estados Unidos de América, felicito al Presidente interino Juan Guaido, a la Asamblea Nacional y al pueblo de Venezuela por celebrar el aniversario de su independencia.

Una vez más, el pueblo venezolano está asediado por la dictadura, la presencia extranjera no deseada y los especuladores. Al igual que en la época de Bolívar, el camino de Venezuela hacia la democracia no es fácil, pero ustedes inspiran al mundo con la fuerza de sus voces y su tremendo coraje.

Estamos con ustedes en su lucha para reclamar un gobierno democrático y liberarlo de aquellos que han traicionado, oprimido y robado al pueblo venezolano la riqueza de tu gran nación.

Los Estados Unidos son inquebrantables en nuestro compromiso de realizar la restauración de su futuro democrático y el establecimiento de un gobierno elegido por el pueblo venezolano a través de elecciones libres y justas.

Ustedes tendrán nuestro apoyo hasta ese momento y más allá, a medida que comiencen su recuperación.
